Leader Dogs Classic
For Global Financial and its employees, giving back means many things. It means fiscal responsibility during turbulent times, generosity toward our community, and a willingness to step out into local neighborhoods to share our passion and enthusiasm.
J D Jenks, Founder, President & CEO of Global Financial, has been actively involved with the Leader Dogs for the Blind since 2002. The Leader Dogs for the Blind provide guide dogs to people who are blind and visually impaired to enhance their mobility, independence and quality of life. Since its founding, Leader Dogs for the Blind has assisted over 14,000 people in achieving the freedom of sale and independent travel. J D Jenks is the Chairman of the Board for the local Leader Dogs Classic which is a locally organized and run 501 (C)(3) charity. All members of the Classic are volunteers who donate hundred of hours each year.
The Leader Dogs Classic in Arizona is a three day series of non-profit charity events that are annually planned, organized and staged by an organization of 100% local community volunteers. The annual Classic has been moved forward to April for cooler weather with the same primary purpose of raising funds for the Leader Dogs for the Blind organization.
The first day of the golf event kicks-off with an opportunity for visually-impaired golfers to play each other in a two day, 36 hole golf tournament held at a public course in the Scottsdale area.
On Sunday evening an open to the public concert/party will be held at a local public venue.
The Leader Dogs Classic golf tournament is played on the third day (Monday) at the exclusive and private Ancala Country Club. This is followed by a reception and dinner accompanied by a live and silent auction. There are also opportunities throughout the tournament to win prizes donated by both private and corporate sponsors.
Sponsors enjoy the opportunity to demonstrate their civic commitment to the community as well as the personal satisfaction of having helped provide a dog guide to a visually impaired person.
